Have I been selected for the job?

When hired you will be sent an offer letter that you will need to accept and sign. Once you sign your offer letter, you are then sent into the pre-hire phase which includes background and motor vehicle checks. You will also complete pre-boarding in EpicEmployee. The questions you will see here are basic information about you such as updating personal info like your birthday, identification information, applying for housing, and other required forms. If you are no longer being considered for the position you will receive an email from Vail Resorts Careers if you are not selected to move forward in the hiring process.

Background Check or Law Violation Question

After you are offered a position and signed your offer letter, you’ll need to complete a background check or answer the Law Violation Question. Right after accepting your job offer, expect an email from vailresortscareers@vailresorts.com with instructions on how to complete. Please note that background checks can take anywhere from one to 14 days to process.

After you sign your offer letter you will log into EpicEmployee and complete Preboarding. How do you log into Epic Employee Preboarding?

You will receive an email from PeopleConnect@vailresorts.com  Pre-Boarding steps include updating personal info, applying for housing, and other required forms.

IT will not be able to reset your password.  You will have to reset it yourself via the "Forgot Password" option.  If the Forgot Password option fails and several browsers are yielding the same error, please get a screenshot showing the exact error message you are receiving so that People Connect can help troubleshoot.

When can I sign up for housing and how?

Once you sign your offer letter, you are then sent into pre-boarding and asked to answer a few questions. The questions you will see here are basic information about you such as birthday, identification information or your work sponsorship.

 

Once you complete these pre-boarding questions you will be provided with a set of credentials to log into Epic Employee. Epic Employee will be the hub for the rest of your onboarding activities. You will receive a housing task and be prompted to go claim your StarRez password and apply for housing. To claim your password, use the "Claiming your password" link under the "First-Time User" section on the homepage.

***If you are currently under the legal age of 18 you will be unable to apply for housing until your 18th birthday.  This is because Housing License Agreements are legal documents and you must be of legal age to complete*** 

Final Onboarding Forms: Sent no earlier than 2 weeks before your start date. This is when you will log into EpicEmployee as a Vail Resorts User.

No earlier than 2 weeks before your start date you will receive an email from peopleconnect@vailresorts.com to complete your final onboarding forms.  This will include your Vail Resorts user ID and your default password. You will then complete the following

To log in for the first time, follow the link in the email received from PeopleConnect@vailresorts.com. Your Vail Resorts User ID and default password are provided in the email. After logging in for the first time, you will be prompted to change your password. The password requirements are displayed at the bottom of the screen.

After updating the password, you will be prompted to provide more information to keep your account secure. Click "Next" and select authentication.

Once two authentication methods have been selected, click "Done" to be re-directed to your Final Onboarding Forms.

What documents are needed to start work? Completing your I9 with Equifax.

IMPORTANT: Form I-9 can only be completed on non-holiday weekdays between the hours of 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM CT, Monday through Friday. Please ensure that you have all documents prior to beginning your form I-9. Section 1 MUST be completed on or before your first day of work.

Vail Resorts is excited to partner with Equifax Workforce Solutions for all I-9 services.

Employees will receive an email that includes the Section 1 of their Form I-9. Once section 1 is completed, the employee will be instructed to upload their supporting documents to begin Section 2. A list of all acceptable supporting documents can be found here. The document upload can be uploaded via desktop or through the mobile upload feature.

Completing Section 1:

To begin, click the link that is included in the welcome email and choose your work location from the drop down menu then click Continue. Next, the employee will be taken to their instructions page which outlines which forms are required to complete within the packet, click “Continue” to begin.

To complete Section 1, complete the required fields:

 

Complete this page by entering your initials at the bottom of the page, If the incorrect initials are entered, the employee will get an error message (see below). Once correct initials are entered, the employee will click continue.

Complete the Employee Information and Attestation, Citizenship Attestation, and the Preparer and/or Translator Certification.

The employee is required to review their personal information, and electronically sign the form at the bottom, checking the attestation box, and clicking continue.

Next the employee will be presented with their supporting document options, List A, B, and C will all be listed out on this page, once familiarized with the options available, the employee will click continue.

 

The employee is required to choose which supporting document type they are presenting as work authorization.

Once the Document Type is selected, the specific Supporting Document within the Type category needs to be selected.

Next the employee will then be required to upload their supporting documents. Supporting Documents can be uploaded via desktop, or the Mobile Upload option.

I never received my email to sign into Epic Employee and complete onboarding, what do I do?

If you are a new hire, be sure that that you signed your offer letter as this is what triggers your onboarding event to begin within Epic Employee. If you are a SIS returner, check your spam folder and other inboxes for an email letting you know your onboarding event is ready to begin. 

I am having issues viewing my onboarding request within Epic Employee.

Be sure to clear your cookies and cache. Some browser versions may not be compatible with our systems – please try to use Google Chrome if you are having issues with Internet Explorer, Safari, or another browser. If you are using a mobile device, please complete the process on a laptop or desktop computer instead.

I need to update my email address or have an email resent.

Benefits Information

If you are eligible to enroll in benefits, you will receive an email from vail.resorts.welcome@vailresorts.com with instructions on how to enroll and information about your Benefits & Perks. This email will be sent shortly after you receive your Final Onboarding Forms. 

I am a returning SIS employee, what is the process for me?

SIS employees complete self-service Returner Onboarding in EpicEmployee.  

You will receive two emails from peopleconnect@vailresorts.com

The first contains a link to EpicEmployee with instructions for how to login and what to use for your username. The second email provides the auto-generated password.

You will then log into EpicEmployee to coplete a list of tasks for return. This includes the background check/Law Violation Question, attestations and required forms.
