Flagg Ranch Employee Uniforms
Campground
You will be provided two uniform shirts, a logoed baseball cap and Helly Hansen waterproof jacket for cold or rainy days. You are responsible for bringing your own pairs of khaki hiking pants along with hiking boots or shoes. On warmer days, bermuda shorts or capris are permitted as long as they hit at or below the knee. Please note, hiking pants should be in good condition without tears, holes or stains. Along with following the uniform guidelines daily, you must adhere to the Vail Resorts grooming policy as well.
Front of House Restaurant
Server, Host & Server's Assistant
You will be provided with two uniform shirts. It is your responsibility to bring a work-appropriate pair of dark, blue jeans. Jeans with a light or "loud" wash, bedazzling, heavy embroidery, rips, tears or distressing are NOT allowed. Jeans must sit at the waist and be worn with a black belt. You are also required to bring a pair on non-slip work shoes. In addition to complying with uniform requirements, you also must adhere to the Vail Resorts grooming standards. Please note, employees not in compliance may be sent home from their shifts.
Front Desk Agent/
Supervisor
Supervisor
You will be provided with two uniform shirts and two uniform sweaters. The sweater is optional and comes in handy on cooler days. You are responsible for bringing your own black slacks and sensible black closed-toed shoes. Please note, jeans, leggings and sneakers ARE NOT considered acceptable work attire. As well as wearing the required uniform, you must also be in compliance with Vail Resorts Front Desk grooming standards.
Managers
You are responsible for bringing your own business casual work attire. While we all have personal styles and tastes, while at work you must adhere to the company's business casual dress code. To keep things simple, I recommend bringing 2-3 pairs of slacks, 5-6 shirts/blouses and a couple of sweaters or blazers. While dresses and skirts are allowed for women, they must be professional in style (no mini skirts or short summer dresses). Lastly, please make sure to bring comfortable, closed-toe shoes, as you will be standing the majority of the day.
Health & Safety Officer / Security
You will be provided with two navy blue polo shirts, Helly Hansen jacket and baseball cap upon arriving to Flagg Ranch. It is your responsibility to bring your own black pants, sensible black shoes, and black belt (you will spend much of the day on your feet). In addition to complying with the uniform policy, you must also adhere to Vail Resorts grooming standards. Please note, jeans and open-toed shoes are NOT considered appropriate work attire.
Housekeeping
You will be provided with two uniform shirts and waterproof jacket for cold/rainy days. You are responsible for bringing your own khaki pants and black sneakers. Make sure the pants you bring allow for easy movement, as the job requires bending, kneeling, squatting and reaching. Capris and shorts are permitted as long as they hit below the knee. Please note, jeans are not an acceptable form of work attire. Athletic sneakers, such as Nike or Adidas, are recommended as opposed to fashion sneakers, such as Converse that provide little support or comfort.
Kitchen
Cooks
You will be given three sets of uniforms, which include chef coats, chef pants, apron and hat. The only thing you have to supply is your non-slip, black shoes. Don't have money for them now? Not a problem, you will be given ample time to get a pair once you start working. Non-slip kitchen shoes are essential to your safety in our work environment. We tend to work on wet, greasy and slippery floors. Here are some photos of approved and NOT approved kitchen shoes. Open-toed shoes are NEVER allowed in the kitchen, not even if you're just coming in to check your schedule.
Dishwashers
Dishwashers will be provided three uniform shirts and three pairs of black pants. You must provided your own pair of black, non-slip kitchen shoes.
Maintenance & Grounds
You will be provided three Carhartt khaki uniform shirts, a waterproof Helly Hansen jacket, and baseball hat upon your arrival. It is your responsibility to bring brown or gray work pants along with brown work boots. In addition to complying with uniform requirements, you must also adhere to the Vail Resort's grooming policy (see below). Please note, jeans are NOT an acceptable form of work attire.
Retail
You will be provided with two uniform shirts along with a sweater for cooler days. You are responsible for bring your own khaki pants along with sensible closed-toe brown or black shoes. Shorts are not allowed. Hiking boots or shoes are recommended, as the majority of your shift will be spent on your feet. Hats are not permitted including sports caps, beanies, or cowboy hats. In addition to meeting uniform guidelines, you must also adhere to the Vail Resorts grooming standards. Please note, jeans and sandals are not considered an acceptable form of work attire.
VAIL RESORTS, GRAND TETON LODGE COMPANY, FLAGG RANCH PRESENTATION & UNIFORM POLICY
You might work in service or sales, as an instructor or food server, an executive chef or an executive. We know that departments, locations and positions are all different and the details for distinct operating groups may vary, including personal grooming and how you dress. No matter who you are or what you do, that first impression is always important. To be at your best, follow your location or department’s dress code, and talk with your Supervisor about any specific presentation requirements for your job.
The guiding principle of an employee's presentation cannot distract from delivering exceptional service to our guests. If you come to work violating the policy listed below, you may not be permitted to start your shift and/or may be asked to change clothes, be sent home or be disciplined. If due to a sincerely-held religious belief or disability you are not able to meet the standards and/or would like to request a reasonable accommodation, please contact Human Resources.
Hair - Hair should be clean, professional and kept back from the face. Extreme styles (e.g. mohawks) are not permitted.
Facial Hair - Beards, goatees, sideburns and mustaches are allowed as long as the facial hair does not cause safety or sanitary issues. Extreme styles are not permitted.
Nails - Fingernails should be clean and short or moderate in length. Polished nails should be maintained and in good condition.
Jewelry & Piercings - All jewelry must be professional in appearance. One small nose stud or hoop is allowed. Up to two earrings or one solid gauge up to ½” maximum in each ear is allowed. All other facial jewelry or visible body piercings, including additional nose rings, gauges and tongue studs are not permitted. Concealing jewelry with a bandage or other means is not permitted.
Tattoos - Employees may have visible tattoos, except on the face area, that are in good taste and not offensive. An employee may be asked to cover their tattoo with clothing while on duty and must comply if requested.
Clothing/Hygiene - Employees are expected to dress professionally and follow all reasonable personal care standards, including regular bathing to avoid offensive or excessive odors such as body odor and/or perfume and cologne.
Footwear - Employees are expected to wear footwear appropriate for their position and in good condition.
Uniforms - Certain positions require employees to wear a uniform while working. Employees are expected to wear uniforms in the appropriate manner. Nametags must be worn and jackets zipped up to above nametag level. All hats, where permitted, must be worn facing forward.
