Arrival and Check-In

Where to go when you arrive

ALL seasonal residents (regardless of housing/RV Park) will be required to register with housing immediately upon entry to Grand Teton National Park.  Please be sure to arrive on your scheduled check-in date. If you arrive days early you will be turned away to seek lodging elsewhere until your scheduled arrival. All employees are required to show proof of full vaccination status and a negative COVID-19 test result taken within 9 days prior to arrival date.


  • Jackson Hole Golf & Tennis employees:   employee will be responsible for arranging a time to meet with Steve Hawkins or Guy Evans at the club house.  

  • Jackson Lake Lodge and Gros Ventre Campground: JLL housing check in times will be 8 AM - 10 PM.

  • Colter Bay Village: CBV housing check in times will be 8 AM - 10 PM.

  • Flagg Ranch: Flagg Ranch housing check in will be located upstairs in the main lodge with housing manager, Marc Patnaude

  • Jenny Lake Lodge employees: Employee will be responsible for arranging a housing check in time at Jenny Lake Lodge main lodge with Ron Neville or Javier Dominguez Gutierrez

2. Make sure you have completed the steps found on the hiring check list.

3. Pack and make sure your original and unexpired identification documents are with you for a successful Human Resources Check in

If you’re driving here and will have a vehicle this summer, it needs to be registered with the Park so that you don’t have to pay the entrance fee each time you enter. Bring your Drivers License, Vehicle Registration, and Employee ID to your locations Housing Management to receive your park pass sticker. Since you won’t have a sticker when you arrive, just tell the friendly entrance gate attendant in Moran that you are a new GTLC employee, arriving for the first time. They’ll let you pass, but that will only work once. You’ll need a sticker after that day.

Completing Required Trainings/Orientation

Before starting your job you will complete the "Ready for Summer" online orientation training curriculum. Plan for this training to take 3-4 hours. You will be paid for time spent on trainings and do not need to clock in. ​Additional details and instructions for completing these trainings will be sent in an email the day before your start date. This curriculum varies depending on your role, but must be completed to schedule your Human Resources check-in. The courses are:

  1. Welcome to Grand Teton Lodge Company

  2. GTLC Health and Safety Orientation

  3. GTLC Next Steps Guide (contains link to schedule HR check in)

  4. DEI Fundamentals

  5. Verbal De-escalation Training

  6. Employee Commitment Statement

  7. Epic Service (New Employees or Epic Service Returners)

  8. New Hire Code of Ethics

For People Leaders they will additionally take Welcome to Continuous Listening, Incident and Safety Management System: Enablon and Labor Management Fundamentals

**You may have other online trainings assigned to you; you do NOT have to complete any other trainings prior to HR check-in. Other trainings can always be completed later**

For required trainings you are welcome to use your own electronic smart device (IOS, Android, Samsung, laptop, tablet, etc.) and headphones. Human Resources will have laptops and headphones available to check out that will be sanitized after each use. In our health and safety efforts to limit the amount of contact between employees it is highly recommended that you bring and use your personal devices for these trainings.

HR Check-in - By Appointment Only!

The final activity of the "Ready for Summer" curriculum/training is scheduling your HR check-in appointment. Successfully checking in with HR with original unexpired identification is required.   Even if you have previously worked for Vail Resorts or Human Resources may have taken copies of these documents in the past you still need to bring them with you! When in doubt bring them with you.

Employee Uniforms

Once you have checked in with housing, completed your online employee orientation and finished your check in appointment with human resources you will go to your home department and check in with your manager. Your manager will then give you a time for your first shift and provide instructions to receive an employee uniform (if it is required for your position).
